2. Next grazing recommendation

Add paddock rest days below to get a recommendation.

Recommendation is based on recorded rest days and your target rest period. Always check grass cover, residual, access, weather and soil conditions in the field.

3. Farm map & grass recovery

How to edit the map
1. Upload your farm map. 2. Choose a field number. 3. Zoom in with + and tap around the field edge. 4. Press Finish field to save it. To change a boundary, choose that field and draw it again. Use Undo point if you make a mistake.

Every field shows a recovery percentage from 0% to 100%, and its colour gets darker each day as the recorded rest period advances toward your target. The app updates the day count automatically from the “Last grazed” date. This is a time-based planning estimate—not a measurement of actual grass growth from satellite imagery.

100%Zoom in, then scroll the map to reach field edges.
Upload a satellite screenshot of your farm to start tracing field boundaries.

4. Paddock records

Enable only fields used by the milking herd. Add the correct area and days since last grazing. Fields covered by red markings on your map should be excluded. No field areas are assumed by this app.

Restore a backup

Choose a Ballykitt Farm JSON backup previously exported from this app. Restoring replaces the current app records, so export a backup first.

5. Daily grazing diary

Record each grazing allocation after morning or evening milking. Logging an entry updates that field’s last-grazed date and starts its recovery clock. Use actual field observations to decide whether to graze.

6. Mastitis & affected teat register

Record the cow number, affected quarter(s), and date first noticed. Select one or more quarters on the simple udder diagram. This is a recording tool, not a diagnosis or treatment guide; follow your farm protocol and veterinary advice.

8. Daily farm checklist

Tick off the jobs for today. Checklist ticks are saved on this device and reset automatically when the date changes.

7. Autumn closing tracker

Use this to track fields closed for spring. Close fields progressively according to local advice, grass growth, soil type, expected housing date and spring demand.
